Kris Taylor is the president of K. Taylor & Associates; a consulting firm that helps organizations successfully navigate the human side of strategically oriented change. She has 27 years experience in the field of organizational change and development, learning, training and human resources, including 15 years with a Fortune 200 company. This corporate experience is balanced by 10 years working with non-profit and educational organizations.
Kris brings depth and hands on knowledge in change management including cultural change, designing learning solutions, communication, risk assessment, project planning, human resources, and program evaluation. She was certified as a Change Leader for RR Donnelley and traveled internationally facilitating cultural change workshops for 3 years.
Since June of 2004, K. Taylor & Associates has provided change management services for a variety of clients including an international supply chain company implementing SAP and a national printer implementing an industry specific ERP system. Cultural change work includes assisting a heavy manufacturer develop a high performance team culture and helping a national non-profit organization move to a results focused, decentralized decision making organization.
Distinctive elements of Kris’s experience include experience with seven large scale change and training projects and work on 4 international projects, including a green field manufacturing start up. Her versatility and breadth of experience enable her to identify cost effective, custom solutions that get results.
In 2005, Kris was selected by ASTD (American Society of Training and Development) to provide expertise in developing an international certification in Workplace Learning and Performance. She developed competency test questions, validated the performance assessment and is one of a select group of individuals in the pilot group for certification.
As a Learning Manager for the 26 domestic print plants for RR Donnelley, Kris led a staff of 15 as they taught over 3000 people how to use 7 different MIS systems. These programs were cited by Training and Development as one of the top 75 Training Programs nationally in 2004.
Kris is an excellent speaker, facilitator and instructor. She is an adjunct faculty member at Ivy Tech State College and has taught professional certification courses, leadership development workshops and facilitated a “manufacturing boot camp” to develop job success skills. Speaking engagements include AYS, Inc. (key note), Biz Growth Network, Montgomery County HR Association, Purdue, and Women in Communication.
Her facilitation skills have been certified by Senn-Delaney and Zenger-Miller. Due to her strong facilitation skills she served as a Master Trainer with RR Donnelley, a role in which she taught and certified others to instruct and facilitate. She currently trains others to facilitate and to become skilled at coaching and on the job training.
Skills and expertise are rounded by 3 years experience as a manufacturing supervisor and manager and also by 5 years experience as a HR supervisor responsible for hiring, employee relations, training, diversity and compliance. Knowing how the real world works is a definite compliment to her current work, which has a focus on functional, business focused, results oriented change management and training solutions.
Formal education includes a master’s degree in Organizational Development and Human Resources Management from the Krannert School of Business at Purdue University. In addition, Kris has been certified as a Senior Human Resources Professional (SPHR) through the Society for Human Resources Management since 2000 and completed the ROI Certification Course by the American Society for Training and Development in 2003.
